The 20th Elbland Festival 2019
Classics, Show & Evergreens
 12th & 13th July 2019
The Elbland Festival
The Magic of Music

Wittenberge.
Enchanting sounds - these are unforgettable film scores and rousing musicals, the most beautiful melodies of rock and pop and the best of the world of opera and operetta.
Glamorous elegance - these are breathtaking voices and sonorous instruments, a wonderful ballet, humorous comedy and a brilliant fireworks display in the midnight starry sky.
Magical atmosphere - our festival area on the old oil mill "Alten Ölmühle" is embedded in the traditional 19th Century "Gründerzeit" architecture of the north and directly on the majestic Elbe River.

Under the motto "An Italian Night on the Elbe - The Great Jubilee Gala" world stars like the Austrian soprano singer Eva Lind or the tenor Martin Shalita from the USA will be singing the sonorous "La Donna E Mobile" from Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto" or his "Drinking Song" from the opera "La Traviata". Many crowd favorites, including Lars Redlich, Alenka Genzel & Frank Matthias, Mirjam Miesterfeldt or Heiko Reissig, and traditionally also young laureates of the "Lotte Lehmann Akademie Perleberg" like Julia Schuhmacher from the Elbe region pageants, bring excerpts from the most magnificent "Italian" operettas, such as the "Night in Venice" by Johann Strauss, the "Gasparone" by Carl Millöcker or the "Boccaccio" by Franz von Suppé on the Elbland stage "Elblandbühne".

Furthermore, the Israeli tenor Assaf Kacholi will also perform. Kacholi is known for his solo performances and CD productions, as well as through his participation in the group "Adoro".

The entire ensemble, which is accompanied by the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg conducted by Robert Reimer, also plays Italian film classics, such as from the "Godfather" of Nino Rota or the soundtracks of the legendary Ennio Morricone.
Last but not least, the jubilee programme of the Elbland Festival features the most beautiful melodies of the Italian hits.

On the festival Saturday, you are invited in the afternoon to the coffee table on the grounds of the old oil mill "Alte Ölmühle" to talk with the artists of the evening. Additionally, the tourist information office of Wittenberge offers a variety of accompanying programmes from boat trips on the Elbe to visits to possibly the largest clock tower on the Continent.
From there you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of the Elbe River Landscape "UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat", or even stroll through the largely reconstructed 19th century and art nouveau architecture of the city.

Shortly before midnight, the jubilee festival ends with its traditional fireworks display over the festival town of Wittenberge. Visitors along the Elbe can travel south on the S1 of the S-Bahn Mittelelbe or to Hamburg with the EC connections. By car, we recommend the BAB 24 to Hamburg.
